We strongly value and actively encourage community links and involvement at all levels within our school. We have a supportive and proactive School Council, which welcomes all families. The School Council continued to support families by the provision of an Outside School Hours Care Program, which includes before, after school and vacation care programs and a school owned bus to transport students from neighbouring schools who wish to access this service.
As a school, we have continued to build strong relationships within the wider community—whether through visits with emergency services, shared projects and transition experiences with NDSC, or partnerships with organisations such as Landcare and the CSIRO to enrich student learning. We have also strengthened our wellbeing partnerships through the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and Anglicare. Our students have proudly represented Neerim South at both Remembrance and ANZAC Day ceremonies. I truly see Neerim South Primary School as a hub of our vibrant community, and I am always seeking opportunities to welcome community members into our school.
Parent/Carer trust in the school was reflected in this year’s Parent Opinion Survey, where families reported an 75% positive response rate for school pride and confidence—a result well above the state average.
